Tarabumba Circus is circus without animals. Instead, “Über-marionettes” are used, animated by humans. This is an environmentally friendly puppet show. Drawing from the abundant circus tradition, the creators add a new quality to the performance. By using interesting puppetry techniques, they show the beauty of puppet theatre. At the same time, by renouncing animal exploitation, they manifest their respect for all living creatures.
The roles that used to be performed by animals are played by huge marionettes. Actors take the roles of circus artists – animal tamers, strongmen, acrobats, clowns. Undoubtedly, the gigantic, life-size animal puppets have the leading roles – Elephant, Giraffe, and Lion. The hilarious Elephant, a trombone virtuoso, wants us to believe that he can fly and stand on his trunk. The handsome Giraffe reveals her real face – she’s a sensitive artist and nature lover, hopelessly besotted with her trainer. The hardy Lion shows his mane and menace – he roars ragingly and tries to eat his carer. They form a unique trio: Giraffe sings about love, Lion – about courage, and Elephant – about happiness.
This family show is addressed to people of all ages – it will appeal to children and teens, parents and grandparents. The performance will spark the imagination of every single spectator. It plays with sound, light, and motion, stimulating the senses with intensified power.
